The Leaf Necklace

I have wanted a little leaf necklace for a long time...well ever since I saw Jennifer Meyer's versions. They are as lovely as they are pricey.

There are lots on etsy - Theresa Mink sells some fab ones - but I got mine last week in Accessorize.

God bless Accessorize. Always waiting for me at a train station when I have 15 minutes to kill before a long journey. I did a little mental happy dance when I saw this...it's just what I have been looking for all these years...and it cost around the £10 mark.

(NB: I have tried to find it on the website but failed....I got mine at the Clapham Junction branch FYI! :)

So here it is...

And on me today...paired with a white Zara top, frizzy-bizzy hair and faded makeup :)

I just love this sort of mini-charm-that-doesn't-mean-anything-particular thing.

After all, remember the sideways cross phase? (which I am sort of still in by the way!).

Supermarket shopping?

Whilst picking up my lunch in Tesco's (ooh the glamour) I also managed to amass a couple of additional hair products for the testing...

1) Vo5 Miracle Concentrate - a £5 bottle of oil riding on the Argan oil craze. I like having something like this in the handbag so the mini size appealed....and part of me thinks an oil is an oil irrespective of how little or great the price tag...so lets see if it performs miracles.

(Disclaimer: I am highly sceptical of any product performing miracles but I say things like this for dramatic effect!)

2) John Frieda Sheer Blonde - Go Blonder - So many people have raved about this. Absolutely not a product you can use every day but the odd squirt over the summer will be a fun experiment to undertake. I should take my before shot before I get spritzing :)

Why is it that you can actually feel the internal groan of a Monday?

Glad that it's over!

  1. Really love little delicate pieces like this with statement rings. Accessorize is so pricey here though!

  2. That's very cute, I think I kith pop into my local store and see if they have it! So pleased you're blogging again!

  3. When I was watching the John Frieda live show, the guy made a point of saying several times that the go blonder spray should ONLY be used by people with blonde hair! - So just be careful :)

  5. Love that necklace, may have to scour Accesorize this week...

I'd be really interested to see what results you get from the Vo5 'Miracle' Concentrate, like you i'm always skeptical about products with the word Miracle in the name!

So glad you are back blogging Laura. :) xx

  8. @Lorraine - it's a once in a while type of place definitely! I get carried away and then realise at checkout that I don't want to spend £50 so put a lot of it back haha :)

  12. I think you might make the leaf necklace sell out Laura, you always start new crazes :) It is gorgeous though, I love simply gold charm necklaces too x

  13. Oooo I have that necklace {feel all stylish now because you bought it too!}. Funny though, I took it to be a feather rather than a leaf! I adore necklaces like this, I have another gold one which has a wishbone on it that I wear all the time.

  14. Charms are huge here in France. Agatha, is proposing in its new catalogue plenty of them. You might wanna go and check out the website : http://www.agatha.fr/index.php/?___store=english

Probably more pricey than accessorize though.

Regarding hair, my latest holly grail for the past few months have been Moroccan oil products.

  20. Please be careful with the John Freida Go Blonder, I know people who have used it for an extended period of time and it's made their hair break off at the root. One of the main ingredients is peroxide which isn't good for your hair if you're using it that often.

BTW I'm so glad you're back, I loved you're old blog and was sad that you stopped.

  21. Love the necklace! I'm too afraid to use anything to change my hair colour/dye my own hair, I've seen too many disasters! Be careful!

  24. Glad to see you're back! I echo the sentiment that you were missed, but totally understand that blogging can feel pressured and then it's time to take a step back.

In any event I love the feather, I saw it a while back on Theresa Minks' site as well as a few other places. They're really cute.

  25. Gorgeous! I used to get Mondays off at my old job - a thing I took far too much for granted!!

  26. Ah Laura, I have so many of those feather charms from when i was making jewellery. They are gathering dust now!

I have to say that macadamia oil has completely transformed my hair. It washes cleanly out yet leaves my hair manageable, frizz free and soft. I actually believe it has done what no other product could do for me - restructure my very damaged and weak hair.

I saw a clip of cribs the other day and remembered the first video on your yt channel..the dubai hotel cribs style video! It put a smile on my face. So glad your blogging again :) Alina

  30. what a lovely necklace! I love any piece of jewelry that is delicate and simple (and preferably gold). I've worn a Dogeared lightening bolt necklace for about a year straight :) I may have to turn over a new "leaf" soon though! Haha, what a horrible pun I just did there.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Just have to say I'm so glad you're back :) secondly I might grab some of the lightening spray when the weather warms up here in Au :)

  32. Welcome back! We have certainly missed you. Love the necklace, especially the size of the chain, I really don't like the long necklaces that I keep finding everywhere these days. Please let us know what, if anything, the two products do to your hair.

  38. It's so nice you're back! I have missed reading your posts.

You look so happy and content in the photos, and no matter what you wear you look amazing!

God bless Accessories, I agree! Sometimes cheap pieces can be just as fun to wear as expensive ones, and this necklace looks very elegant on you.

I'm looking forward to reading more posts from you.

    Have a lovely day!

    xoxo from Croatia

  39. Can't wait to hear how the lightening spray works. I've been thinking about trying their Go Blonder shampoo and conditioner set.. probably won't do anything to my dark brown hair but my curiosity is winning that argument

  40. Hi Laura, I love your blog! This monday wasn't so bad for me as I launched my Eco Beachwear Collection for CORAL CONSERVATION.

    www.sophiarogge.com

Over the years as an artist and designer I have continually been drawn back to colour and nature. When I first came across the countless variety of coral at art school, I realized I’d found something that would never cease to inspire me.

New species of coral are discovered yearly, but at the same time many are becoming extinct unnecessarily. This is escalating out of control and with your help we can prevent it from happening.

My aim is to bring the delicate allure of coral to the forefront of people’s minds, in the hope that you too will be inspired to support one of nature’s most beautiful and fragile living organisms.

    I hope you like it!

    BTW I'm obsessed w Vo5 Miracle Concentrate

    Love Sophia X
