Meet the most recent addition to the perfume collection:
Stella Sheer
or Sheer Stella - whichever you prefer!

There is just something about them that's almost more confident. They don't need to shout about the notes - they are there - but they are understated. It's clean, honest, light and almost optimistic.
I am starting to waffle here...
Back to Stella
I have sniffed the original Stella's and a lot of my friends cite this as one of their most cherished fragrances. I was never convinced but just like the Chloe, the sheerer and more wearable (for me) version has me in agreement.
Wear this and I would describe you as smelling of lemony, crisp roses. I know, I know...it doesn't sound that great but trust me...there's a sort of subtle sensuality about it that's far from eau de Grandma. It's obviously floral but not obnoxiously so.
The official description talks of: "crisp green apple, frosted lemon and Bulgarian Rose. A heart of peony pulses with the sensuality of amber".
Yep, pretty much! A fantastic day time scent in any case.
Onto the eBay bag
I have been a little bit naughty. You see I bought a bag and it's definitely inspired by another well-known design. The seller doesn't claim to be anything related to the designer but this is quite obviously a Wang-inspired/stolen affair. And as bad as it sounds I don't mind.
The reason I love the Wang Rocco bags is all because of the hardware at the base. All I want is some damn sturdy studs. I was considering buying one on shopbop.com - what the hell I thought - and then I stumbled across an exact copy on modekungen.se for about 130 Euro. But some savvy Tweeters pointed me in the direction of eBay. For £29.99 I thought "why not" and saw it as a bit of an experiment. It's not the same of course but if it feels durable and has my beloved studded feet. Happy days!
First impressions? Very good!
No, it's not real leather, but it does feel sturdy and my beloved studs are there for all to see! I think the lighter leather version - i.e, grey and white - may look pathetic but I think the black plays it safe.
Here come some pics:
Aha! I found the studs!
Hanging out with my bag and a smug expression.
And quite simply - WAHEY!
Of course if it falls apart tomorrow, forget about it - it's a pile of poo. Until then it gets a tentative thumbs up.
I bought it here:

Hope you are all having a good week!
Stella Sheer
or Sheer Stella - whichever you prefer!

I must say I love the lighter versions of these classic/well known fragrances that emerge at this time of year. Case in point: I am considering the fraiche Marc Jacobs Daisy, Gucci Flora or Chancel Chance as one of the next acquisitions.

Love the studs on that bag! It's gorgeous :) I have the Daisy by Marc Jacobs you show in the first photo: it's my 'signature scent'! Love love love your blog Lauraxxx
ReplyDeleteI've got the same, I use mine every single day for work and don't exactly treat it with love, it gets battered around and I've had it for a good few months now, all the studs are still there and it still looks as good as it did when I bought it!
ReplyDeletex
Love the bag, it's too cute :)
ReplyDeletehave been looking for a faux (ahem..) wang for ages and those look great! love that you're blogging again.
ReplyDeleteGucci flora is gorgeous :) cute bag too xxx
ReplyDeleteI adore my Wang-a-like! Bought it from the same seller thanks to Victoria's blogpost and LOVE it. It's so sturdy and shows no sign of wearing- yet! x
ReplyDeleteI have Floral by Gucci and it is one of my favourite smells but it is quite girly and sweet floral smelling but there is a definite musk so it doesn't smell sickeningly sweet like *cough cough* Paris Hilton's scent.
ReplyDeleteStella McCartney is my favorite... I get compliments everytime I wear it. Have you tried Stella Nude? It's also somewhat lighter than the original.
ReplyDeleteI love the the original Stella but sort was not even going to bother with the sheer...kind of associated sheer with non long lasting. Must try it now.
ReplyDeleteLove the bag :) gotta go and smell this stella one xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat bag looks fabulous! Best 'inspired' bag I've seen - might have to purchase ;) x
ReplyDeleteWill Stella Sheer be your new Summer scent? And I really love the Wang-abe, I'd say you got your moneys worth if you get about a months wear out of it, after that anything is a bonus. (I do shopping math to justify purchases :D)
ReplyDeleteNooo! Get the real rocco, you won't regret it! X
ReplyDeleteThe bag look great! Definitely going to check the perfume out! xx

@soph - that's a fantastic fragrance. Daisy will never get old!
ReplyDelete@carlito86 - i love your comment! really hope mine works out :)
@Karen - thanks girl! hope it doesn't fall apart!
@Selina - ahem! this isn't too bad although part of me still wants the original :)
@Hannah - i spray it at every perfume shop. must get it one day :) its a very pretty scent.
@Daisy - yes! she convinced me to get it :)
@Emzerellababy - i think its gorgeous. i think you could wear it all year round too? a great choice!
@nancy - my friend has that and i tried it yesterday! a good one!
@Ansa - its NOT LONG LASTING. I should add that really. i dont smell it after a few hours so be warned! :)
@Mania - thanks :) its just fresh and floral. Try Gucci Flora eau Fraiche too!
@DianeKnoxCampbell - definitely worth a wee splurge.. :)
@D - I think it will :) and yes i do girly wear-per-pound maths too :) haha
@Rachel - i think if i really like this design i probably will...consider this the test run :)
@Rebecca - thanks girl!
Great bag - might have to mosey over to eBay :-) Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is lovely but lasts no length although this doesn't really bother me as I like re-spraying in the summer and I much prefer it to the original. I will definitely try Stella Sheer - I have the original but I don't love it - it's a bit dry.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try the Marc Jacobs Daisy eau so fresh too. I have the original and absolutely love it.
ReplyDeletei never knew i would be soooo happy to see you again! just checked ur old blog to see if u r back and saw ur post on ur new blog!! and here i am! nice to see you again Laura! really nice ;)
ReplyDeleteLove love love the studs on that bag!
ReplyDeletelol @ the smug expression. Love the studs. Hey Laura, have you read any good books lately??
ReplyDeleteGreat find Laura! Good job!!! :) I don't mind wearing a dupe of a branded one. Specially that most of them come and go..
ReplyDeletexx,
LoveSkinBest
I'd buy the perfume solely for the gorgeous bottle! Although i'm sure the scent is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteGreat bag! I'm a sucker for anything with studs too.
Oh my..two of my favorite items..Perfume and bag !! I might go and check the seller and buy ? :D
ReplyDeleteI'm just so happy to see you back to blogging again Laura. Always here supporting you xx
I brought this off ebay a few month ago and i really do love it. Seen some people with the real thing but you can hardly tell the difference and the studs are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you like Stella's fragrance try Guilty by Gucci :)
ReplyDeleteLove the bag and my all time fav perfume has to be the Marc Jacobs Daisy.Just looked on the ebay site you linked and my eyes lit up when i seen there scarves. Love, love, love :)
ReplyDeletethe Rocco has been in my shopbop cart so many times, I just never went ahead with it... it's really heavy, that has been my only drawback :(
ReplyDeleteI'm also very much a fan of the "fresh" versions of scents, I prefer the fresh versions of Marc Jacobs Daisy and Chanel Chance over the originals. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre is lovely too.
awesome buy! am gona check out the ebay seller now :D
ReplyDeletevery nice bag! xxx

I dont know if you're really into showing off your collection but I really would love to see a post about your perfume collection 'cause you seem to have so many and I dont know much about perfumes, I seem to be crap at choosing scents for myself, so it would give me a bit of an idea.
ReplyDeletewhat a great bag, already checked it out on ebay. Love that you're blogging again miss you so much on youtube but this is great. take care.
ReplyDeleteThat perfume bottle is stunning. I'm a sucker for a pretty bottle - as long as the perfume's nice too of course!

ReplyDeleteI am so going to get that bag, I love it!xx
ReplyDeleteI have the Lush ripoff - LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteLove the bag, so glad I found you! I screamed a little when I realized it was you. I'm all caught up and this IS you, and that is a wonderful thing!
ReplyDeleteLaura, I'm so glad you're back! I spent my evening catching up on your previous posts. Can I share my MJ Daisy Eau So Fresh story with you? I purchased this perfume a few months ago intending it to be my new spring perfume baby. I absolutely loved the scent. But when I wore it, the scent lasted maybe half an hour): I thought maybe it was just my nose, but nobody else could smell it either when I frantically waved my wrists in their faces. I tried spraying it on my clothes, but the scent was gone so fast! I was so bummed. I was able to exchange it for another perfume, but it crushed me. I was bedridden for days... ok, not really. Maybe I had a bad bottle? Hope it works out better for you if you purchase it(:
ReplyDeleteIs that Britney Spears perfume I see in the background? I'm glad to see I'm not the only one over 25 that owns that! lol! I'm so glad to see you are back to blogging. You look as beautiful as ever, always an inspiration...:)
ReplyDeleteoooohhhhh preeeeetttttyyyyyyy! its my birthday soon....thats goin on the list!
ReplyDeleteLovely bag...xdxd
