...and I love light coloured blazers even more.
This one is a nude/light stone shade and was acquired a few weeks ago at River Island. I have tried to source it on their site but it is nowhere to be found - I was either unlucky enough to pay full price for a sale item or it's set to hit the site later in the summer. We will see....in any case I highly recommend!
It is a gorgeous colour that co-ordinates with pretty much anything. White can sometimes be too stark. Pink can be too Barbie. Grey can be too draining. This is the blazer that acts as a hybrid of all tones, finding a happy medium between them all.
I approve :)
Shirt: Zara
Blazer: River Island
Shorts: J Crew (old)Flats: Pour La Victoire
Bag: eBay (and yes....I still adore this bag. It seems to hold an endless amount of stuff)
These are the last car park pictures for a while....sad face....I get my flight tonight but I will be back in Dubai so the Ibn Battuta car park will soon return as a backdrop :)
In other news....
1) I sniffed Gold by Kim Khardashian the other day in Sephora and....ooh it was fruity and nice! I won't buy it - really I won't - and I can't say it was particularly unique (just like her first Michael Kors-copycat number) but it was really quite nice!
2) I haven't bought any make up recently but I am checking out Chanel collections from afar....the quads looks lovely but I have to say I have resented/hated every quad I have got from them...rubbish pigmentation for the price....so I may resist and get Peridot nail polish instead :)
3) I wore my shoes last night. I admired them - mainly from a seated position. Felt like a grown up with them on but you bet I enjoyed taking them off at the end of the evening!
I wore them with my beige BikBok dress. I am sad that the flash made it look horrid....it's a really lovely dress. Interesting billowing layers and a nice neckline. Nevermind :)

4) I have been sent quite a few emails and comments that ask similar types of questions: the most common being:
a) How tall are you? Nearly 5ft 7 - nearly being about half a centimetre :)
b) What is the model name of the Cheap Monday grey/black jeans? I actually don't know....which is annoying as I would buy more colours in that model. They are button fly, have a black Cheap Monday label at the back and are stretch fabric (not all Cheap Monday jeans are stretchy - I have a black pair that require the lie-down-and-suck-it-up method)
c) Would you recommend the eBay bag? Absolutely yes - I am sure not all batches are fantastic quality but I have used mine every day since I got it and laden it down with the paraphernalia that I deem necessary for daily survival.
See you in England! :)
x

Lovely nude. Is it blazer weather in Dubai at the moment? Love your posts.
ReplyDeleteI'm so surprised that you're 5"7! You look tiny.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a nice new blazer in all the cheaper shops and think I might have to shell out for a Zara one soon, this has just made me feel more deprived :L
You do love blazers! And you had me influenced ever since then. Hehe, just got one in black though. Maybe, i'll try to save money for a beigey blazers next.. :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, I can't help but notice that your hair is growing longer already! :D
@Pandora's Box - In a word NO :) Its absolutely baking - hairdryer in your face weather...but in the malls it's air conditioning heaven and it can get chilly so you always need a little jacket/pashmina or something :)
ReplyDelete@Lorraine - haha :) And yes Zara are always reliable...they do good ones year in year out.
@Myrted - yay! I hope so. I am still on the growing mission but it does feel like it takes forever :)
I love that beige dress , I think you have the best blazer collection :) love them all ;) have a nice trip back home Laura xoxo
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely! Especially those shoes :)
ReplyDeleteOooh I love the nude blazer! I really want to get a few blazers, I currently don't own any! xxx
ReplyDeleteThis makes me extremely envious! I have been looking for a blazer this colour for so long, finally just settled on a nudey pink coloured one from h&m. Looks gorgeous on you, will have to keep my eye out for it making an appearance online!

@Mania - thank you - it photographed badly but looked nice IRL :)
ReplyDelete@LaGlitterz - nice shoes: not that comfortable but I guess we already knew that :) haha
@Catherine - you neeeed one! I would start with a nude or a black one....both super versatile. H&M do great ones too btw!
@Beth - you know how I feel about H&M: I approve! haha
Laura, I just bought the Chanel illusion d’ombre eyeshadow in Illusiore, and I highly recommend! Its a little odd to work with, but it looks lovely for a night out and its enough to wear on its own with just mascara. If you're looking to try something for the collection, I think you would love it! Also, have you tried their aqua foundation? I'm obsessed.
ReplyDeleteBlazers are the best! They really are like the top of an icing for clothing wise, there was this gorgeous drapey cream blazer at warehouse! You should have a look, you might like it :)

The shoes are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, it's the perfect neutral shade, love a good blazer! Those heels look fab and really high! x
ReplyDeleteGet peridot! Gorgeous! Also recommend graphite. Very unusual, both of them. Also tried the peridot with the matifying butter topcoat. Gave it an interesting dimension...just a thought!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you are enjoying the bag and I could see how nice it looks with all of your outfits lately.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the bag to arrive..been a week of waiting now..I hope it'll be here by the end of the week. See you soon :)
Since blazers are the topic of choice, maybe you could help me out with one? I got this black blazer in a sale and have not yet managed to figure a way to wear it. It has this satin collar that I feel makes me look like either a waiter or a groom. Do you have any ideas how you would style something like that? I trust your blazer knowledge implicitly!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
I adore your sunglasses :)
ReplyDeleteyes, the shoes are so grown up! they remind me of something carrie bradshaw would wear, very cute and unique. I love them paired with the pretty nude dress, the contrast works amazingly
ReplyDeletex
@Ashley - I have one like that: I should post a pic of it. I wear it with jeans and a plain tank - not innovative at all but it's mainly because the blazer itself has a feature/detail that would clash with anything complicated. I am assuming the satin collar is a different colour here? If not then don't worry about it. black goes with everything - would look fab with dark skinny jeans and a shirt/tee tucked in....dress down with flats or converse. :)
ReplyDeleteThe perfect blazer!! I would snap it up in a second if they had one small enough!! :) Glad to see you enjoying the fab shoes :P rachinald.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI tried on this blazer probably around the same time you bought it - I thought to myself i'll buy this on payday and it has since suspiciously disappeared! Couldn't even see them in the sales, and yes you're right - not online. It is a mystery!! I'm so gutted :( I have looked everywhere else for a similar one but none of them fit like the River Island one - you're lucky :) x
ReplyDeletelaura, i highly recommend topkapi quad by chanel new collection! i even recommend seeing 'topkapi' itself which is in Istanbul :) lol:) u look amazing, i will check out that blazer 2morrow for sure! love to copy you! hahaha:)
ReplyDeleteThe shooooozzzz are adorable. Are the comfy to walk/stand? I love the heel. For some reason I see them with as a bit an art deco feel. It could be just me.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the next Chanel collection with those cream/pigment eyeshadows in lovely colours.
X
love the blazer- you look fab as usual!
ReplyDeletelove the blazer (:
ReplyDelete- and the whole outfit!

Thanks Laura!
ReplyDeleteThat blazer is exactly what I've been hunting for! I wish I lived in Europe and could go to places like Primark and River Island.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really recommend Peridot nail polish. I just blogged about that one along with Graphite and they are really lovely shades. Oh, Chanel ;)
they have some lovely blazers in zara now, made of like a tshirt/cotton/jersey material. it's hard to explain but they are soo nice
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you are back and blogging! I missed reading you're lovely blog about all the important things in life like makeup, skin care, and clothing ;-) If only you would do videos again (sigh).

Wow, you look gorgeous Laura! Would you say the eBay bag is about the same quality or slightly less than more expensive brands like your Balenciaga or Miu Miu? xxx
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get those sunglasses? They're great!
ReplyDeleteLove the tone of the blazer--not quite cool or warm, a nice neutral. And those shoes! If only all the cutest heels didn't also kill our feet...
ReplyDeleteno one pulls off nude colours like you do. I swear, it always looks boring on me!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is to die for!
ReplyDeletesimplyyoursamb.blogspot.com

Hi Laura!
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming you're still in Dubai, so I have to ask...have you seen the new Chanel collection up close yet? I've been to a couple of counters recently and it seems they're not available yet.
Ooh the heels are a lot brighter in this light. Really like the graphic look! Thanks for the update on the bag. xx
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your sunglasses! You look utterly fab in every picture!
ReplyDeletex
I've been looking for a new blazer for ages, feel like I might have left it too late! Looks lovely though xxx
ReplyDeleteoh beautiful colour for a blazer! you are totally on point! (: nudes are the way to go for a happy medium that won't wash you out when finding the perfect shade of nude of course. i recently found out the the Europe and Canada don't get the awesome quality of the Chanel quads. Ours are baked formulations while there's is the regular. ): so if you were to buy them, get them from the US!
ReplyDeleteLaura, absolutely love both your blazers. I'm extremely happy that you're blogging again. I followed you rigorously and I was gutted when you decided to stop. You're seriously one of my favourite bloggers!
