Asphalt - doesn't that sound exciting!?

Yeah, it's just a tee. And yes it's a somewhat dull colour - I call it asphalt.

But...here's my justification...

It's so soft. And it has the most flattering neckline. End of.

Scoop neck with a low back? You cannot ask for more. So simple but yet I was over it like a rash when I spotted this in Urban Outfitters.

It's by Cheap Monday. They always have to add something different - that's just their style as a brand - and here you find a double pocket detail at the front. Of course this is something you will never use ...it's like those tops with little pockets on the boob area....I have some of those and every time I think: "why are you there exactly?"

Anyhow, there is no doubt in my mind that I will be picking up a white version. All you need is a low rise bra and an exfoliated back :)

It felt good to wear this today....I coupled it with jeans, boots and a black casual cloak type affair from Staple (an Aussie brand I also love and more things came from them today via the good ole' ASOS sale :) .

Clearly been playing around with the photo editing software....oh I do love a good vignette :p

Before I nip off to enjoy the rest of my evening - i.e, vacuum and clean...fun - I have to let you know that the Lancome Doll Eyes is NOT doing it for me. Don't get me wrong I can tell this is a good mascara but I keep naughtily reaching for my Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion. Whilst the Doll Eyes definitely lengthens, Max Factor lengthens, thickens, separates and prettifies in a way that no other tube of mascara can. It's love I tell you! As is my new passion for Sleek's Bare Minimum Pout Polish....

And I am very proud of the dip I have managed to create in less than 2 days. I shall now proceed to pat myself on the back :)

Have a good night!

x

FYI: The tee can be seen here!

  5. this looks great! I love tees with a low back - it's nice but not slutty! And congrats about the dip . . . I have a horrible time using up lip products!

  7. That top is stunning, but Cheap Monday is bloody hard to get in Ireland! I love their clothes, basics with a little twist! Enjoy your evening ;)

  8. Most intrigued by the 'black casual cloak type affair' we need more pics :) great outfit for the rainy London weather, looks cosy! Elle x

  10. @MissExpensivePink - hey :) for these photos I used Picnik but normally I just use aperture to crop them. It's a programme for a Mac. Picnik is a great start though - easy to use and free.

@stylestyle2010 - i realised that it looked a bit creased in these photos but haha it's lovely - and just the right length. definitely need one in white :)

@Crystal - ah but you have Cover Girl. And it's EXACTLY The same product mascara wise :)

@melovebutterflies - oh i love it! Two layers and i angle the brush and wiggle in all kinds of directions and its fantastic. :)

@Kelly - sadly i go through things like this VERY quickly. For example, 3 MAC Calm Mode lip conditioners in less than 6 months...that was some good going :)

@HeatherAMarie - yes they should do that! a multi purpose in these kind of shades...DIVINE!

@Julie - order online! Normally i get it from asos or urban outfitters....just happened to be near a store the other day but normally i buy it without seeing it in real life. Always a bit risky :s

@Elle - haha you definitely will as I am taking it away to Sweden next week. I love it. It's my Harry Potter coat.

@nana - me too :) the pocket is a bit unnecessary but a little quirky i guess....neckline is worth it: you are right :)

  23. I love clothes with subtle detailing like the back in your top. Showing off your back is sexy in that sophisticated way that showing off your cleavage too much isn't! x

  24. Laura, which wins in a mascara smackdown between max factor and l'oreal voluminous (my personal favorite) I trust your taste enough to try out the former, if you say it trumps my beloved!

  25. I love a nice tee that goes with everything. The Sleek products look really fun, too bad it is not sold here in the US ;(

  32. You can't go wrong with deep gray colors, they go great with black. A pocket seems to find its way onto every plain T that I have, why is that? No use for them that's for sure, but I guess it gives an extra something :) So happy you are blogging again!

  34. I love it! Unfortunately, I tend to collect grey tees with unusual necklines. Grey is my favorite color, and if I'm not careful it will be the only color I end up wearing. However, this is super cute, and I will definitely be contemplating it.

  35. asphalt! the pockets is too big and yet too cute.. do you actually put things in it.. haha

and exfoliated back it is.. i went for a whole body scrub on my bday and oh dear i felt like a chicken getting ready to be roasted... it was worth it though :)

  52. Laura, I'm soo glad I found your new (to me anyway!) blog! I used to love your vids so I was very happy to find you here. I almost bought that top a few days ago but went for one of the sparkle and fade(love that name!) slubby tops (and a few sale items as well) but seeing it again makes me want it more...ahh! Seeing you like your greige's have you tried the new Revlon 'smokey canvas' polish? It's pretty lovely and applies nicely (IMO). Good to have you back :)

  55. It's a lovely top, but you're a braver gal than I am- I'd never have the confidence to wear anything that was low-backed. By the way, that lip gloss/balm/whatever in the last picture looks lovely- very sweet and girly :-)

  59. Missing Max Factor in the US, but I am trying the Doll Eyes and have to say I'm loving it. For me Lancome has the best mascara's, it's usually a battle with my self to plunk down the money. Not a cheap brand. As always enjoyed the post.....

    ReplyDelete
  60. Love the tee - such a lovely colour and I love the slouch.

    ReplyDelete
  61. False Lash Effect Fusion is my absolute favourite mascara. I've never found a brand who can beat Max Factor on the mascara front so I don't blame you for reaching for that rather than the Lancome Doll Eyes <3
