Another day, another collar

Talk about a lack of inspiration?! :) Yes, its another top with a collar detail.

But in my defence - and the shirt's - there is more!

This is a double layered sheer number and it's all kinds of comfortable.

I wore it by itself today but in colder climes I would be itching to put a nice fine knit over the top. Of course the fact that it is double-layered does not mean that it's not transparent - wear it without a body or vest top at your peril! 

NB: My face has been quite deliberately cropped out of these photos. I think I was going for "non-plussed" but instead came across as moody cow. I must have been disturbed by what looks like - and what in fact is - a dead bird in the background. High five to those who spotted it immediately because I sure as hell didn't.

Bag: Celine Mini Phantom (a recent gift :D and my new BFF. I think this is more dribbly robot than sad robot?)
Nails: Orly Hot Shot

I am absolutely in LOVE with the nail polish. I had every intention to get a neutral/boring/safe/lovely manicure this weekend but instead chose the wild card and reached for Hot Shot. It's so hard to capture the brightness but it is a fluorescent coral. I don't think I own many bright/bright nail polishes so this could be the start of something.... :)

  3. Love that top! Looks fab on you. Might need to go snag one, but my girlfriend and I are actually launching our own line this Summer hopefully and we're planning to make 6 collars to choose from!   11. Beautiful, Laura :) I love Zara's shirts...they always hang "just so" and give that put-together look without sacrificing comfort. And I do like the nail color; it's a nice accent to an otherwise neutral outfit.

    Just curious, what do you think of nude-colored nails? I've been addicted to a shade that is almost the same color as my skin, what are your two cents on the trend?

    1. Mannequin hands? I think it can look great - it's all about finding the right nude. I am not sure I have got there yet - I tend to like a really pale pink or pearl but I am always on the hunt for a good nude :)

    1. haha well i would definitely say that the way to cheer your self is with an obnoxiously bright nail polish so start with that first :) Trips to Zara are so dangerous aren't they? They nearly always tempt me with things that I know I want to wear immediately :)

    1. I can honestly say that it's the best bag shape and quality I have ever had. I am a huge slouchy bag lover (Balenciaga/Miu Miu/Focco etc...) but some structure makes a HUGE difference. The Celine is such a boring bag in some ways but I am head over heels in love with it :)

  38. Love Orly polishes. They stay on my nails longer than any other brand. I also like the viscosity of the formula and you get so much in one bottle. :) My recent polish purchases include Orly Ma Cherie, Zoya LC and Ali. Ma Cherie is a jelly red, not unique but I still like it a lot. Waiting for the Zoya package to arrive. Ali is suppose to be florescent pink. Most excited about that one.

    2. A great bright neon pink is Ali from Zoya (I've featured it in a Mani Monday post on my blog) as well as Essie "Really Red", "Pansy" or "Bachelorette Bash". I saw Betsy Johnson is doing a collab with Sephora for OPI called "It's My Pink" and it smells like her perfume as it dries :)

  54. i love that bright coral- it is my fave colour and I have yet to see someone who doesn't suit it. if you're tanned or dark skinned, it just makes you glow, and it if you're pale it makes you look romantically flushed. it suits dark hair, light hair- I pretty much think it is a super-colour. Plus, it reeks of summer, which is never a bad thing. LOVE!
