The InLovewithfashion Beige Lurex Twist Back Dress

I am disappointed in myself. These photos didn't come out very well and it's all my fault. I was in a champagne coma and missed the sunset so all you get is a soft gauze effect, lacking focus and giving you just a basic idea of the dress.

To provide you with a bit more detail this is from InLovewithfashion and I selected it myself from their website.

I liked the back (which I didn't capture - fail part 2) and the ethereal finish. Its a pretty light beige fabric littered with gold threads and therefore perfect for summer evening wear.

One thing to note however, the material is rail thin.

You know that episode of Sex and the City when Carrie wears The Naked Dress (as declared by Charlotte)...well that's how i felt in this.

It might not be a super seductive shape but it's that kind of fabric that makes you audit your underwear drawer in order to find something that is going to work underneath. Forget anything lace or coloured - it will show.

I semi-dread to think what came through with flash photography but thankfully I never went there!

I thought I would also slam in some pictures taken during my break/1 night away.

Bab al Shams - translated as Gateway to the Sun - is tucked away in the desert and dunes of Dubai. It's design is intended to mimic an Arabian fort and this means hidden courtyards, walkways and lanterns.

It has a special ambience and whilst the service wasn't consistently amazing it's a great place to visit - should you find yourself in Dubai :)

I will admit that it was lovely to get out of my area and drive out to a part of the country I rarely even see. My love for the minibreak lives on :) 







Okay so you have now reviewed pictures of walls....

Just to let you know that I downloaded a controversial book today - Fifty Shades of Grey. I just saw a news feature on the TV about the controversy surrounding this raunchy prose and obviously I went straight to Amazon and purchased it.

Anyone else read this? As soon as Alan Carr's autobiography is done I am on it :)

  24. Dress is beautiful on you and the shoes... stunning! I loved the Alan Carr book. I used to find myself in fits of laughter on the train. People would always ask "what are you reading?" I may take a look at the other book. Just finished When God was a rabbit - which was quite good. Need a new read!

  33. Love the dress! I visited the link that you gave... But one question: Can you wear such a sheer dress in Dubai? I asked myself the same question when I see your Zara's skirt post (which I love too!), because of the length. I thought Dubai was more conservative...

    1. It is and it isn't. Certain places I would never wear this or the skirt - but i wore both in the grounds of a hotel full of western guests so it worked out :)

  36. I love the shape of the dress on you, it looks so classical and elegant. The colour is beautiful too and I love that you've paired it with that cute turquoise clutch.

    I totally know what you mean about sheer material and having to select your underwear very carefully. I hate that so much though!! Although I'm living abroad and could really do with making use of internet shopping Ive found myself doing it less and less because half of the items Ive got have been see-through and pretty much unwearable *cough* *ASOS* *cough*

  42. I really love how you weave in little "what I'm reading" and book rec tid bits into your blog. I read One Day after coming across it on your blog and loved it! I've been sucked into The Hunger Games trilogy for the moment but Fifty Shades of Grey will be my more 'adult' read next up. :)

  50. So, I'm not sure if you know this, but Fifty Shades of Grey actually started at as a Twilight fanfiction. It was originally called Master of the Universe and the main characters are Bella and Edward. I promise you I am not making this up. It was taken off of fanfiction.net when it was published. Obviously, the names Edward and Bella were replaced and I'm sure there are some other differences, but I don't know because I haven't actually read the book. It's embarrassing to admit, but I have read the fanfiction and it was incredible! Obviously there is a lot of good, fun smut, but there is actually some great plot too. Hope you enjoy it!

  54. I, of course, went right to Amazon and downloaded Fifty Shades of Gray. A controvesial book?? How can one resist? Any ways I read the first one then promplty went and downloaded the other two. I did squirm a few times uncomfortably however, I was not able to put it down. I have read some of the reviews and I am not sure I agree with most of them ... Call me weird but I am on the edge of my seat to see if he will let her touch him inside the lipstick boundary. This keeps me turning the pages ... ah clicking my turn thingy. :)
