The Scraggy Jeans

I don't define myself as a fashion blogger so I don't feel too bad posting about a pair of scraggy, old-looking jeans. AKA nothing special. The worst part of this is that said item is only a few weeks old and were purchased pre-distressed. Yes, I paid to look scraggy.

Still, jokes aside, boyfriend jeans are the denim equivalent of pyjamas. I feel naughtily sloppy and comfy when I wear these and on off-duty days I don't want to wear anything else. After years of donning fairly restrictive skinny jeans these are such a nice, lazy alternative.

I wore them this week and tried to make them look a little more respectable with smart separates and flats. With jeans this baggy you need to take steps to smarten to avoid "Hobo".





Jeans: Current/Elliott (if you buy these go 1-2 sizes down...I went down one and got the 25)
Top: Zara (current season)
Jacket: Topshop
Shoes: Tory Burch
Sunglasses: Elizabeth & James "Fairfax"
Bag: Celine

I have always been quite keen on the boyish, preppy look and every now and then it's nice to wear something less close-fitting and roomy - do you ever feel like that? Mmm I tend to feel like this approximately once a month ;)

    Almost as if you've got your PJs on in broad daylight...how cosy comfortable would that be at your desk. Fear not I haven't done that..yet! ;-)

  20. I've always loved the look of boyfriend jeans but still haven't gotten a pair of my own. I think they look great with heels but the way you've paired them here is lovely too. Definitely not scraggy!

  23. I always feel like comfy is better!! I'm so sick of skinny jeans. They've made me want to swear off jeans for good. I've been wearing some cargo pants recently (just posted them, haha). I feel so sneaky getting away wearing them at work!!

  35. Ah, you styled these so well. I love boyfriend jeans but I can't pull them off without looking genuinely frumpy. Maybe I'll give them another shot...I love the juxtaposition between the baggy bottoms and the structured top.

Esa película me encanta cada vez que la veo...en fin, a lo que vamos: Look ideal, con la formalidad y la clase que da siempre el negro (bien empleado) con el toque desenfadado de los tejanos...que decir que me encanta? Porque creo que es obvio e innecesario.

I've just bought three pairs of destroyed Current/Elliott and my mum couldn't believve I'd paid 'so much' money for scruffy jeans :) Love them. Yours look gorge.

  49. I used to live in baggy jean but right when I hit 15 and I had the desire to make my jeans as tight as possible. I'm shocked I still have blood circulation in my legs 4 years later.

  51. I love boyfriend jeans. Skinny's are not for me and never have been. My legs are quite short and not so skinny. I really didn't liked the skinny trend, so I'm very happy that boyfriends are trend friendly as well :)
