My skincare ran out, my skin shrivelled up and so I did what anyone would do and ran to Boots, scanned the aisles and ended up with a range from a company that I can't even pronounce convincingly - yes, welcome to my NUXE ("newks"?) haul!
I quite like this brand and trust that they will deliver (their clarifying mask with rose is one of my all time favourites!). Admittedly all a skincare company has to do is hint at a French heritage and I blindly invest without question - the same can be said for anything that talks about "radiance" or "anti-fatigue".
I got three products and together they have managed to:
1) Create a nourished/hydrated feel to the skin; and
2) Achieve that without any irritation.
The chosen three were:
1) The serum - Serum Creme Fraiche de Beaute - Link!
2 ) The day moisturiser - Creme Prodigieuse Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Cream - Link!
3) The night moisturiser - Creme Prodigieuse Nuit Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Cream - Link!
The routine goes like this: Cleanse/SK-11 Facial Essence/Serum/Cream (day or night)....x 2.
After 3 weeks of usage I am really pleased that I hauled NUXE. I feel like it's a brand that performs in a way that defies it's price tag. It would never be defined as "cheap" but when you look at the skincare landscape and the price that some brands levy at us for a pot of cream, this feels like value for money. I also feel secure in a way because I know that I can: a) afford to buy this again and b) it's accessible at any time in my local Boots.
I do think the star of the show is probably the Serum Creme Fraiche de Beaute. If you have never tried a serum before, or are looking for an upgrade, I would get this. I like that it's super lightweight and that it contains hyaluronic acid to soothe and bolster the hydration levels of the skin. I also like that it leaves a satin finish with no stickiness and you can apply it to both face and eye.
The day cream gets second prize. This I like because it feels quite rich but yet is not one of those creams that interferes with makeup. I have sometimes been put off by moisturising because I don't want my slap to slide around and go all Picasso on me. Like the serum this sets in a satin finish. The nightcream of course is rich and will leave your face a little shiny but if you wake up with happy skin who really cares?
Before I end the NUXE discussion I have to of course mention the lip balm - Reve de Miel. This has been RAVED about and unfortunately I am going to sound like a broken record by saying that yes, it is fantastic. I know, I know...how boringly predictable.
BUT there was a time, right at the beginning, when I HATED this product and couldn't understand why one pot was sold every 28 seconds. I just hated the texture and the little granules. I didn't think the scent was anything to get excited about and I felt duped. So I relegated it to "night lip balm" status - ie, not something that I would reach for during the day but begrudgingly swipe on before I went to sleep.
This is still how I use it but here's the thing....a few weeks after buying the first pot and resenting each night time application I noticed how my lips felt overall. They weren't as dry during the day, there were no flakes and they definitely felt healthier. Now it's a ritual to apply this. So let's say hello to pot number two! :)

Have you tried NUXE before?
Am I saying it right when I say Newks? :)

I think most people hate the lip balm at 1st I did & was so disappointed but once you get down into the pot the texture changes into a nice lip balm! Nuxe should encourage scraping the top layer off in its instructions!!! xx
ReplyDeleteThey really should! I thought all the bloggers that raved about it were mad at first because of the grit. Get rid of that and it's perfick :)
DeleteI LOVE Nuxe! Have used the lipbalm for years but it started breaking me out in painful cysts on the edges of the lips so had to give that one up. I switched to the tube version but it's less rich/repairing.
ReplyDeleteYou need to try their oil Prodigieuse on your body and hair, you'll never look back :))
I have tried the oil but I think I got the wrong one because mine has the glitter particles....and it goes EVERYWHERE :)
DeleteAh yes, there is a glittery version, nice for the legs and shoulders in the Summer but not the one you want for everyday use :)
DeleteI really want to try Nuxe products, they seem lovely.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

scribblesofvalerie.blogspot.com
I definitely recommend them! Thanks for reading Valerie :)
DeleteI've always been so curious about this brand but have been loyal to La Roche Posay and Vichy for so long that i never tried it out. Def gonna try the serum! I told my Hubs, that post baby my goal is to freeze my face in my thirties LOL Not necessarily through botox...but with good skin care routine, Vit A and regular facials/microderm...we will see where that gets me :) lol
ReplyDeleteMehreen
www.thecurrentlyobsessed.com
haha I love that - freezing the face. My goal is to age as gracefully as Lisa Vanderkamp. If I achieve that then I will be happy....although she isn't a stranger to the botox I am sure :)
DeleteHave used the skin oil for years. Love it! So ventured into the skincare range with both cleanser, toner and moisturiser and was greatly disappointed unfortunately :(
ReplyDeletehttp://weveryheartbeat.blogspot.co.uk
ah boo! I have heard lots of great things about the skin oil though...I need to try that as I always love how nourishing oils feel.
DeleteI haven't used this brand before, I haven't seen or read too much 'hype' about it. But, after reading this post I will take a look into it. :)
ReplyDeleteLou
www.thekeypieces.co.uk
Definitely take a look at it. The perfect "dip your toe" product is probably the lip balm :)
Deletei still love your beauty posts the most <3
ReplyDeleteI know you do :) I must try and do them more regularly. Note to self: Buy more beauty products :)
DeleteI gotta ask...how much of the lip balm do you put on? Because I have had this for over half a year and I am still scraping the top...it may have something to do with the fact that I use the tiniest amout because it is too rich, but still :) Do tell...
ReplyDeleteI used to go 6-8 months with a jar myself, using it at night only.
DeleteMine lasted about 4.5 months maybe...at first I was trying to use it day and night so probably went through more. It definitely lasts a good few months though!
DeleteHave you tried the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse? It is a dry body oil but maaaaan the sheen on my legs, can't beat it!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently going through a bit of a dilemma in terms of skin care. I've been reading a few science-y type blogs of late that are blasting expensive creams that claim to give miraculous results. They tell me that the important thing is to keep your skin hydrated.
At the minute I'm using Sanctuary's 'Therapist's Secret Facial Oil', it's slightly pricy and I know it won't perform miracles but damn, it smells truly gorgeous and feels luxurious! The bonus is my skin has this sheen to it, similar to Lauren Branning from Eastenders (oh the shame), ha!
Hi Halima - I have! But I got the glittery one and it just goes everywhere...need to get the classic version!
DeleteI definitely don't believe in spending 3 figures on a cream...I have been a victim but at the end of the day you can' stop ageing...best just to be kind and nourish your skin. I love that Sanctuary oil btw.
I've seen Nuxe here in Germany as well, I think after what you wrote I will give some of their products a go!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely try it! :) Go for the lip balm first!
DeleteI was almost going to purchase their clarifying mask with rose the other day but decided to do some research on it first. Definitely going to get me some now! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it...love the scent and the subtle glow it gives but I have read some negative reviews so don't hold it against me if you hate it :) haha
DeleteLaura has written a blog post about skincare! Oh no! *holds tightly onto wallet*
ReplyDeleteI'm such a lemming for anything that you give great reviews for! And Nuxe has been a brand that I've been curious about for a while. My business trip to Paris at the end of the month has just been cancelled (*wail*), so I guess I'll have to resort to paying inflated prices here in Canada... but hey, Nuxe Reve de Miel, Huile Prodigieuse, and Serum Creme Fraiche de Beaute - here I come :)
Update! So after reading your post, I went to the nearest drugstore to hunt down Nuxe. I came away with Reve de Miel, the Masque Creme Fraiche de Beaute, and a gift-with-purchase containing a mini Huile Prodigieuse, Reve de Miel Face and Body cleansing gel, and the 24h moisturizing body lotion. Yay! :)
Deletehaha i love it! You went for it :) Love the idea of a gift with purchase as well - especially as you get one of their classic products. I really hope you like trying them out Daniela!
DeleteThe 24h moisturizing body lotion smells DIVINE, btw :) As does seemingly everything from Nuxe. The dry oil is heaven.
DeleteI´ve being seeing that lip balm everywhere recently! Might have to investigate as I´m coming to the end of y Khiels Lip Balm #1 which is great but a little pricey. I fancy trying the serum though. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeletehttp://blackswanwhiteswan10.blogspot.com.es/
I definitely prefer this to the Kiehls...but the Kiehls is good as a day balm too because it has a bit of gloss to it. Get both :) haha
DeleteNuxe is such a great brand, I'm glad it's hard to get hold of actually to save my bank balance haha. The Reve de Miel is over hyped but it's still an amazing product. Like you say, you wake up with smoother lips and in the cold months, it's a lifesaver!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.la-vida-fresa.com xo
Your right. It's a great product...yes there are other fab lip products out there too but I can't hate on Reve de Miel any longer :)
DeleteOk im usually first in line for skin care stuff but to be quitw honest a lip balm that takes half a pot to work is a stepp too far for me. If you can get nivea lip butter where you are please go get that instead-it is £1.69 in boots, the caramel cream version has a smell so addictive that i now have 3 pots of the stuff and i noticed a positive difference after 2 days that i have continued to notice 3 weeks later. Ooh also who won the Zoya contest? Xxx
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for those Nivea lip balms everywhere but they are not yet in Dubai! Damn! Will have to wait until I am back :)
DeleteI`m already use the Nuxe products and I like them a lot especially those for skincare.

Yay - glad to hear that! What's your favourite product?
DeleteI love it when you chit chat about beauty. Don't get me wrong, the clothes are fantastic too but this was a good fix! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel - I need to do it more :)
Deletecool stuff. had never tried any of these. I love learning about new products and this is def. a good place to come for that! xx. gigi. food and beauty blogger @ www.gigikkitchen.blogspot.com

Thanks Hannah!
DeleteI love NUXE products. Love! My favorite is the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi Usage Dry Oil. I use a small amount on my face while it's damp after washing in the morning (and sometimes at night). Glowing skin. I have yet to find anything that could replace it. :)
ReplyDeleteK. Nicole
I haven't tried Nuxe but I definitely use up my Trilogy lip treatment at night and when I don't use it, there's a difference the next day as to how my lipstick glides on, or doesn't haha!
ReplyDeleteoh I love Trilogy! I remember trying a few of their things and being happy with them. I need to look into their lip treatment! :)
DeleteYes, you're pronouncing it correctly. My Swedish friends turned me onto the brand a couple of years ago, and if it's good enough for the Swedes, it's good enough for me! Overall, I think it's excellent value for money. Will have to try that lip balm next xo
ReplyDeleteYay! I am glad i don't have to say it out loud though : haha
DeleteI really want to try this brand, I've heard such good things x
ReplyDeletethat-bird.blogspot.co.uk
Thanks Felicity - hope you get the chance soon! :)
DeleteI'm yet to try nude but these products look so refreshing for my skin :)
ReplyDeletewww.dusterknuckles.blogspot.co.uk
Definitely check them out...the serum is so light and refreshing... :)
DeleteThanks for reading Amy
As I am pregnant, I've tried to switch to more natural brands, and yes, Nuxe is one of them. I love their Reve de Miel Cleanser, it smells delicious and cleans really well without stripping my skin. I've just ordered some moisturizer and mask as well, so I look forward to trying that.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations :) Thats fantastic news - I hope you and baby are feeling good!
DeleteAm definitely going to try some of these products out. I especially like the sound of the serum as I've been looking to add a product with hyalauranic acid to my routine.
ReplyDeleteLove your skin care rec - I've been addicted to Kiehls Avocado Eye treatment ever since you posted about it on your other blog :-)
VISIT MY BLOG: ♥♥♥ Ella Pretty ♥♥♥
Ah that eye cream is special. I am still working my way through an Avene one but I would definitely by the avocado cream again - it's just so rich and nourishing!
DeleteThanks Ella :)
I see this brand at the drugstore but I've never tried it before. Interesting that lots of people seem to have had the same experience with that lip balm... I'm very intrigued!
ReplyDeletexo, alison*elle
You have to try it now I think :) haha
DeleteI've seen this before but, never really gave it much thought~ Will have to try<3

That is a good plan! :) Let me know how you get on with it :)
DeleteLike everyone else, I've only heard good things about the NUXE Reve de Miel! Can't wait to get my hands on the tube version.
ReplyDeleteI hope you love it :) The tube seems to get great feedback!
DeleteThanks for the reviews. Not loving my skincare at the moment so will definitely have a look into the brand. Feel unique here I come haha x
ReplyDeleteyour comment literally tempted me to go on that site :) haha
DeleteIt is a good brand. I like the dry oil too, and their eye creams don't give me milia, which is something. As a French speaker, I'd say that the vowel in Nuxe isn't in English, so I'd recommend that you say it something like nooks with the vowel in the word moose. I'm a big fan of La Roche-Posay too.
ReplyDeleteAh La Roche Posay can really do no wrong in my eyes either! Fantastic brands!
DeleteI wonder about NUXE brand eye cream. Is there anybody uses eye cream of this brand? I am 25 years old and I want to start using eye contour cream. Do you have any suggesstions?
ReplyDeleteHandan I am using NUXE Contour des Yeux Prodigieux at the moment. I am almost 30 years old and I've been using it since I was 28. It is a good eye cream, especially for a starter. But I should mention that except moisturation, don't expect anything else (like removing dark circles, etc..)
DeleteThank you Casey :) I am going to try it, but unfortunately I have dark circles. Because I have to work with computer all day :(.

ReplyDeleteReally want to try Nuxe products, they seem great! :) ♥
ReplyDeletehttp://abeautyromancee.blogspot.co.uk/
I am super happy with them :) Start with the lip balm - it's a nice, easy introduction! xx
DeleteThese products sounds really good :) I haven't tried this brand before. Lovely post Laura xx
ReplyDeletehttp://belle-amiebeauty.blogspot.co.uk
Thanks for reading Amie!
Deletei too have boought the lip balm and im not impressed! i feel like im the only one. not keen on the texture and matte finish. guess ill continue to use it and see if it makes a difference!
ReplyDeleteFor me it's purely for night....for day time the matte finish didn't work well...I like a high gloss...
DeleteBut keep going and see if you feel any different about it...it definitely took a few weeks (maybe even a month or more) to convince me!
You're not saying it right but there is no equivalent sound in English, and it's one of the most difficult sounds in French, so no worries Laura : )
ReplyDeleteNuxe multi usage dry oil "huile prodigieuse" is the best. It's a favourite that can be found in many french bathrooms.
Newks it is then :)
DeleteI really need to get some dry oil - so many people have recommended it and now you..it's a must have I think! :)
Hey Laura! I've been using Nuxe for about 6 years now and I love it. It's the one brand that I know won't dissapoint me. My staple has been their Nirvanesque cream- I don't know what it does but my complexion has been great for years now, it cleared out my skin, it works great under my make up. Everytime I finish the jar i think about buying something new but I just can't... It wins everytime:) I also love their Reve de miel hand cream and their Fraiche mask, so soo nice.
ReplyDeleteAlso I love your blog and your style. U've been quite an inspiration!:) Love, Maja
Oooh I really need to try Nirvanesque after reading your comment! Love the sound of that! Thanks for the heads up Maja!
DeleteOooh I might have to try out this range of products as I've heard so much about them now and especially after your post it's convinced me to go out and try them! Definitely want to try the serum x
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good experience with it Hannah!
DeleteI have no idea if that is how you pronounce it, but it doesn't matter, because love knows no mispronunciations!! I love their dry oil. I wanted to hate it. Ew, glass bottle. That's not travel friendly! But alas, I love it. I love it with all my heart!
ReplyDeleteAnd now, because of you, I want to hate their lip balm. Bah humbug!
I got the oil but I got the glittery one which was a big mistake. I really need to try the regular!
DeleteI used the serum this summer and loved it! the only thing I'm not sure about is the SMELL....It's not bad at all but the thing is that I could smell it on my face UNDER my make up all day long.Isn't it weird?I've never had that with any product -even when the fragrance is strong it still fades away....Other than that Nuxe is a good brand!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think 'NEWKS' is right but I've heard the name 'NOOKS' ,too!
I know what you are talking about because that exact same thing happened with Liz Earle's face cream. I cannot stand the way that smells and because of that I could smell it all damn day! :)
Deletehavent heard of this brand before... but i think skincare is an investment... that we all hope will pay off
ReplyDeleteeye---candii.blogspot.co.uk
exactly...i know that nothing will turn back time but I will keep buying and trying regardless ;) haha
DeleteI have a little facial oil from this brand that I received in an old glossy box and I also have the lip balm - I love them both. I think once I've used up my current skin care bits I may try these out. Didn't know boots did them to be honest? I know M&S do :) x
ReplyDeleteActually on second thoughts it might only be Boots in Dubai...not sure...but M&S yes...I had no idea they sold so many different beauty brands! I have been away so long :)
DeleteI might have to try this out!! I am a huge fan of Eminence Organics but this product looks good!! xo
ReplyDeleteCheck out my online beauty store: http://beautybymissash.blogspot.ca/

This is the first time am hearing about the NUXE products, well it looks good in the pic will come to know once we start using the cream. Once i used Tretinoin 0.05 cream it was very good for my skin and cured my skin problems
ReplyDeleteSo glad I read your review. I got the lip balm and love it and have been looking to see what other products to buy from NUXE so I think I will definitely give the serum a go. Thanks :)
