Damn you Zara!

Another Zara-centric post. Yes, some serious retail therapy went down there this week. I admit it, I am weak when it comes to their summer collections and they have some stunning pieces in stock at the moment. Printed trousers, pretty shirts, bejewelled flats, heels, perfect blazers...

During my binge I did get two other items and I was desperate to put them on this weekend.

First of all - the applique collar top.

How pretty is the detail on this? So okay, it might rip your hair out if you catch some strands on the jewels but it's just one of those tops that is worth the occasional pain. The detail also goes the whole way round the item - so it looks great from the back as well as the front.

I must say that I really like the material on this. The neutral colour is light but it's not transparent so you don't have to worry about what bra colour to wear underneath. Seriously, this is something I occasionally angst about!

Top: Zara - Link!
Blazer: Zara
Jeans: Current/Elliott
Bag: Celine

Next up is a blazer.

Yeah, I really need another one...

I saw this in the store from afar and thought "oooohhh".  I tried it on and loved the fit/weigh/fabric/look of it. There was just something about this that felt so luxurious. I think it's partly the colour. Wearing white and cream does everyone a lot of favours and it helps the skin appear more radiant and healthy. The other part was probably the finish and detail on this jacket. It's fantastic quality - although it has to be said that it really should be because this was not the cheapest item in the store.

I am justifying this as my "spring coat" that I will wear when I pop back to the UK in May. And I will stubbornly wear this in Dubai, like I did this morning, with some mega strong anti-perspirant. :)

Top: H&M - current season, from the Conscious Collection and a really lovely scalloped edged vest top that I would recommend!
Blazer: Zara - Link! (FYI Topshop do a similar looking one - Link!
Jeans: Current/Elliott
Bag: Celine
Sunglasses: Celine
Necklace: New Vintage by Kriss - my new favourite dainty necklace :) - Link!

The haul stops here...although I am still thinking/longing for these ballerinas... it's probably best if I don't go in Zara for a while :)

Have you bought anything from there recently?

Hope you are having a lovely weekend!

  6. I think I am going to do a post on my blog with a similar title... "Damn You, Laura!" And that post is just going to be a photo of my bank/credit card statements. I am loving Zara right now, and these two pieces are right up my alley!

  7. Snap! I had a mini spree in Zara this week as I had a gift card for it so I do have a perfectly valid reason for my spree, ha!

I did not see the applique collar top though? It looks gorgeous! Embellishment on white/cream is always a winner.

Just noticed it's 100% Viscose! Does it crease like a b***h? I have a love hate relationship with the fabric, I need my clothes to be completely crease free. Yep, I have a problem!

  32. absolutely LOVE both the top and the jacket! i think the top is absolutely beautiful and i am constantly on the look out for a top that is casual but a bit more dressy than just a t-shirt. i think this is the one for me! however, upon looking at the pictures online, i'm not too keen on the sleeves but i'm sure i could work with them... the jacket on the other hand is something that i need need need! it's perfect for spring/summer and when the evenings just start to cool down! and those ballerinas are just beautiful! they remind me of a pair i had when i was a little girl but these are just a bit more grown up! :) X

For me, it's not just avoiding the stores - I also have a weakness for their app because its so much easier to see the new stock in your size and order it to try on from the comfort of my own home :) x

  46. Hey Laura, do you find that the stitching on your Zara tops has been sort of lousy? I've a couple of incidents of threads coming undone or a hole emerging on a new sweater. I can sew, so it wasn't too difficult to fix, however I feel that when you spend so much money on items, the seams shouldn't be falling apart.
