The Reiss "Nia" Skirt

I had to fake a bit of happy today - the start of the working week doesn't always fill me with excitement.

I know, I surprise you! :)

In order to boost my mood I came over all superficial (not that hard :) and put on an outfit that would make me feel "together": a Reiss skirt and a H&M top.

The skirt is a few weeks old. I originally got this to wear at a breakfast briefing that my company organised. I thought the midi length would be a safe/professional choice but I also liked the fact that the skirt's details  - belted high waist and front slit - ensured that it looked interesting/chic rather than plebby.

It's nicely fitted, lined (so no visible knicker line to worry about) and...it has pockets. Don't ask me why but the inclusion of pockets on a skirt/dress always get's me excited.

I wanted to keep things light in colour so paired it with my new H&M scalloped vest top. You really have to look into this. It cost about £15 and is such a great quality top from their new Conscious Collection.

I tucked it in to the skirt and bam - ready for the day as you can tell from my oh-so-cheery face :)

Skirt: Reiss - Link!
Top: H&M - Link!
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Soso
Bag: Celine
Sunglasses: Celine

PS. On my face is:

1) Aerin's lipstick in "Garden Path". I spent a lot of money hauling from that line and I can honestly say that my overall impression has been "meh". Nothing special/wouldn't seek out to repurchase but the lipstick itself is a wonderful dupe for YSL's discontinued Tea Rose.

2)  The Dioskin BB Creme. Holy cow this stuff is really nice. I apply it with a kabuki and get a pretty satin/natural skin finish.  I had such low expectations of this but it's a fantastic product that has properly distracted me from my beloved Chantecaille Just Skin. I might do a proper review of it this week.

Have a great Sunday wherever you are :)

  2. I also love things with pockets but they're hard to find! My job involves carrying lots of stuff around and it's not somewhere you can carry a handbag so pockets are ideal. What I dislike is the current trend for "decorative zips" tricking me into thinking there's pockets...

I love the outfit - very elegant. :)

    1. Thanks Catriona - totally agree! I hate it when items look like they have pockets but it turns out to be a cruel lie...happens alot with Zara blazers actually :)

  15. such a gorgeous and sophisticated outfit laura - it's beautiful! the skirt is just lovely but unfortunately due to my short (and pretty stubby) legs, i don't think it would suit me or flatter me. on you, however, wonderful! i really love the top as well and it's encouraged me to check out the rest of the conscious collection at h&m - i've such great things about it! and i would really love to see a review of the dioskin bb creme - it sounds brilliant! :) X
