Another work appropriate outfit of the day for you. This time it's courtesy of Dorothy Perkins.

As you know, I am a bit partial to their dresses. I love wearing them for work and with the addition of the right heels and accessories, they can also work well for evening.

That day/night outfit switch is actually the concept behind their edited dress selection that they currently have on their site. The idea is that you can choose any item from the collection and be comfortable that it will work well for the "party season".

They have some nice picks and they sent me the Bardot.

I love the length of this. It's that perfect demure fit - good for Dubai during the daytime but easily interpreted as evening wear.

In both instances I kept it simple - a little cropped jacket to house the arms during the day, flat shoes to aid walkability and a big tote to sling everything I need on the go. For evening it's just a case of ditching the massive bag, using a clutch, and adding some serious heels.

The Day Look

Jacket: Topshop (a couple of seasons old)
Dress: Dorothy Perkins - Link!
Shoes: Zara
Bag: Celine
Necklace: New Vintage by Kriss - Link!
Sunglasses: House of Harlow

The Night Look

Same dress
Heels: Christian Louboutin Pigalle - Link!
Clutch: Alexander Wang

As always, I definitely recommend having a look at the DP dresses. I have mentioned this may times but the cotton fabric they use for this style wears so nicely and belies the price tag.

Apologies for being such a picture heavy post - like I said the other day, this is my new favourite photo location :)

#B1turns10 and a make up question!

I think this may be my new favourite OOTD location. Not only is there nobody around to throw quizzal glances at you whilst you prance around but the light is perfect. Expect to see it many more times!

To kick off the weekend I thought I would wear my new Zoe Karssen tee and some sloppy jeans. I feel like Zoe Karssen is grown up Wildfox. It's not quite so cutesy but still appeals to the part of you that likes those quirky printed statement clothes.

I got this from Boutique 1 to commemorate 10 years of them being in business. Their favourite designers have created a special item for the occasion and Zoe Karssen came up with this Kiss Your Heart Out tee. In honour of the occasion I threw on some other items I have got from Boutique 1 in the past:

* A Vanessa Bruno broiderie anglaise jacket I picked up in the summer sale; and
* My By Sophie necklace

My hair is currently mourning the loss of Oribe Texturising spray. We are still in that phase where we cannot quite believe the can is done and so spray air into our roots.

Today I will make a Space NK (and possible Selfridges) beauty order in time for Xmas and that's one thing I will definitely be adding to basket along with:

* Mac Candy Yum Yum - no stock in Dubai/denial of it's existence by sales assistants
* The Ciate nail polish advent calendar - I was very jealous of all that had this last year so this December I am getting my own :)
* Charlotte Tilbury something....although not sure what exactly.

Are there any must haves that I cannot miss out on? Let me know before I checkout! :)

Happy Saturday!

First of all...apologies for my absence. I know that writing a blogpost does not take an inordinate amount of time but I just haven't got round to it recently. My reasons are part-laziness and part-work related. I start a new job next week which is all very exciting but which also involves a lot of handover work from my current role.

Now that my excuses are out of the way let's have a quick OOTD/rundown of some of my very favourite things!

First up, burnout tees from Topshop. Simone mentioned how much she liked these - the softness, loose fit and just general feel is relaxed and easy. I bought a couple of them and am already obsessed. Expect me to buy more. I think they work best when you wear them with some serious neck bling...and so that's what I did today :)

Can I just say that I am shocked that I am not frustrated with my hair length yet. I fully expected to be tediously whinging about the shortness by about now but at this point I am even thinking about going shorter!

Necklace: Topshop - Link!
Jeans: Paige (old Shopbop sale bargain...fully recommend that as a channel for cheap designer jeans)
Shoes: Zara (last season)
Bag: Celine

Makeup chat

I want to do a post on my current makeup routine. I am in a happy rut, applying the same tried and tested stuff every day, but there are two new additions worth a mention here:

Clarins Extra Comfort foundation is OUTSTANDING.

We are talking ticks-every-box-never-want-to-use-anything-else. This is not a PR sponsored statement either - I purchased this myself from the Clarins store in Dubai Mall (Sidenote: The Sephora Clarins guy accused me of lying about the existence of this...dude, just admit you don't know - I won't mind!)

It's dewy yet full coverage. Relatively long lasting but easy to apply. Instantly brightens up a tired face  - your skin actually glows post-application. There are not enough superlatives in the world to describe how amazing this is. Okay, the packaging is stupid - who wants a glass pot that you have to dip into every day? - but every other part of it would make me recommend it anyone.

Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate is the other new addition.

Now the shade part I don't like. Maybe you need skills to apply it or maybe I just prefer powder for sculpting but the illuminate is beautiful. It's a simple cream highlighter that makes any part of your face gleam. This reminds me of Becca's Bird of Paradise Gloss...but better. This with the Real Techinques Contour brush will bring cheekbones to life - even if they are non-existent like mine :)

What new makeup items are you loving right now?

...and hope you are all well? :)
