Perk me up!

Now I have a lot of skin care masks.  I love them. They refine your texture and make you feel refreshed. We all know this. And yet, despite this knowledge I hardly ever get round to using them lately.

It's that 15-20 minute commitment that I never seem able to meet. It's like my promises to complete the Jillian Michael 30 day shred - somehow it just never happens.

I go into the bathroom at night - it's typically about 11pm - and I just think "no: I can't do you right now".  I slump into bed and hope that sleep will work it's magic. Come morning time I regret this and commence to bitch about my skin.

I have found a solution to this vicious cycle though and it is the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask. This is a product made for someone like me. It is done in 3 minutes. Now that I can do! And I can do that in the morning, before makeup, or at night, before bed. Everyone has 3 minutes!

(Mask on the right, the accompanying face cream in the Oxygen on the left which BTW I don't rate)

I only tried this recently and it's already working it's way into my routine - and it has to be said, my husband's - on a fairly frequent basis. The consistency is a bit strange. The pump dispenser gives you a light pink gel which you massage onto clean skin.

As the seconds pass, it starts to foam, delivering a "shot" of oxygen (AKA vitamin C). At this point it tingles slightly - something akin to pins and needles on your face - and before you know it the foam has disappeared and it's time to rinse off the remaining residue. It's not painful - although apply this on broken skin and I can imagine that it would be - but for a few seconds it feels...well, weird. Still, it's over quickly and what you're left with is skin that feels extra-clean and firm.

This is definitely a short term quick fix. The results don't last for days but Bliss don't promise this. Without sounding too cliched - although I absolutely will - it's the perfect party season product, ideal for busy people and occasions.

Having said all this, let me make a vow that I will start using up my other more time-intensive treatments. I really need to start getting myself in gear on that front so this along with more deep hair conditioning, regular brow threading sessions and daily nail cuticle oil applications will probably form some of my 2014 beauty resolutions! What will form yours? :)

PS. The Bliss mask costs about £33-£36 (so not cheap) from the likes of Macy's - Link! or Harrods - Link!

In the UAE you can get it on basharacare for AED 249.

  2. Loved this post! Our beauty resolutions are definitely to loook after our nails better - we tend to play around with different nail art ideas & different kinds of manicures and never give our nails the TLC they need afterwards!

    2. Congratulations! It's the first time I've read about it too :-) Am definitely going to give the oxygen mask a try - it's been on my radar for ages - and I always have 3 minutes ;-) I tend to do clay masks 1-2 times a week. I keep them in the shower and apply it while deep conditioning my hair...2 birds with 1 stone ;-)

Love the NY resolutions - daily cuticle oil is something I just can't seem to keep up with - no matter how many containers I stash around me LOL!
