This manicure is dedicated to my friend Laura Carlson.
I met her for drinks last week and before I sat down to bully her into creating a blog - which she has (yay!) and you must have a look at it - Link! - I spied a lovely nail combination.
I immediately made her pose for Instagram purposes in order to record the gorgeousness of it. As you do. And when I went for a manicure on Saturday this become my inspiration. The manicurist used The Devil's Polish - aka Essie Fiji - for the pale pink base and Essie's Good as Gold for the tips.
I love the result. It's surprisingly wearable, even for an office environment, because Good as Gold is on the sheer side. In bright lights it's very subtle but it's nice to have "something" to differentiate it from the usual manicure. I think this look would also be pretty amazing with a silver colour....something for me to try next time :)
...and because I think this salon has a fantastic name I must mention where I got it done: Snob.
This place is relatively new but its a cosy little hideaway in Jumeirah. I loved the decor - floral wallpaper, ornate mirrors, lots of natural light - and how peaceful it was. I literally had the place to myself and consequently nearly dozed off during the manicure :)
What are you currently wearing on your nails?
Ooh and don't forget to check out Laura's blog :) I swear that she is the nail polish application queen!
