When I flew to Doha at the weekend I had to practically run to my gate to catch my flight. I was definitely cutting it fine even before I arrived in duty free. The fact that I then proceeded to shop and buy a perfume is an absolute mickey take.
Still, this was a purchase that had to be made. If you are like me and loved the original Elie Saab perfume then I think you are going to absolutely love L'eau Couture.
I'll tell you the notes if you like so that you can pretend to know what it smells like but perhaps an analogy would be more helpful because to me this smells like a rich woman. Yep, that hits the nail on the head - a rich bird that languishes in silk and diamonds. How random is that? Even more random is that apparently I am spot on because this was inspired by Elie Saab's silk-laden Spring/Summer collection.
My rubbish analogy aside I would also say that it's equal parts warm and fresh and loaded with sensuality. It's a definite compliment generator with men and women alike loving the unique combination of almond, bergamot, orange blossom and vanilla.
When compared to the original I would probably say that this is crisper and fresher. It's not a world apart however. As mentioned before if you had a penchant for the main version you would absolutely recognise this one - and probably love it just as much. That slightly heavier use of green almond however makes it just that more perfect for the summer months. As the weather heats up here, this is what I will be wearing.
Lastly, I thank Qatar Airways for not leaving without me and allowing me to make this lovely purchase in duty free :)
