Muffin tops

This top was the second item that I chose from the Nicole Scherzinger/Missguided collection.

When I selected it I saw it only from the front. I thought I was getting some cool asymmetrical top with black pleather trim. I didn't realise that there was a cut at the side. When I saw it my heart dropped a little and I was reminded that while my mid-section is okay it is not toned enough for this.

I like FOTD's. I like to see what people are actually using and what combinations they are putting together. Even though my FOTD's always look the same I still think it's worth giving a whirl if only to allow myself some serious pouting action :)

Brilliant (boring) Brushes

I am so sorry but this is a post about brushes.

They are awesome brushes but still....it's brushes. And that's a little bit boring.

But here's the thing - when you stumble across brushes that work so amazingly well that you look forward to putting on your make up every morning, you have to share that with someone. And I am sorry but that someone is going to be you...

Nicole, Missguided and me

I have to be honest, when I was invited to check out the Nicole Scherzinger and Missguided collaboration I did get a bit nervous.

I envisaged a lot of body-conscious clothes that required a body like...well like Nicole's to carry them off. But I was mistaken. Don't get me wrong, there is quite a lot of midriff exposing going on in some of the pieces but there are also a lot of pencil length and classic silhouettes that are more wearable and sophisticated.

Burberry "Pale Barley" - my lids but better?

Pale Barley. So many blogposts. So many YouTube mentions. And so little stock.

Don Johnson, is that you?

I think I was channelling some Miami Vice today. Not the Colin-used-to-be-sexy-Farrell Miami Vice but the old school Don Johnson era.  It's the white blazer I think - does it every time!

The cropped tee

Excuse the 80's retail reference but cropped tops make me think of my "Tammy Girl" era. Then I was 10. Now I am considerably older than that but I am still going to pretend that I can get away with it.

Hair basics

Okays let's talk about shampoo and conditioner. Because that's interesting.

Too much? OOTD/FOTD

I ignored the hot, sweaty weather and absolutely piled on the clothes and makeup today.

It all started with the Topshop heart blouse. I was determined to wear it after neglecting it in my wardrobe for months and the only way I could think of making it work was in a jeans and jumper affair. I think a lot of this is to do with the fact that a shirt covered in cutesy hearts is pretty hard for me to carry off at my age. My only strategy was to cover it up with a gorgeous light knit, add some Zara bling and hope for the best. :)

FOTD/make-up chat

This week I finally did it. I bought the NARS NARSissist palette.

I found it on a site called alshop.com, a place I saw referenced on Instagram. I am pretty sure they are not licensed sellers which is why the price was hiked up but they delivered it to my door in 1 day.

The Yellow Coat

Did you know that Heathrow Terminal 3 has a Zara? A Zara in the airport. With duty free prices.

When I saw it: mind...blown and envisaged myself shopping like a mad woman and rocking up to the plane with bags so stuffed full of goodies that they don't fit in the overhead lockers.
