Bright stuff

I think I have a thing for scuba. 100% polyester and fabulous. It never wrinkles, always stays structured and if you look on ASOS, comes in any number of hues at good prices.

This one was a bit of an impulse purchase. I loved the shape of it more than anything else: just above the knee, full in terms of volume and with cool box pleats. I knew it would be bright as it was classified as a neon but blimey....it's bright!

This has it's upsides:

1) You will always be spotted in a crowd; and
2) Neon makes you look seriously tanned even when you're really not.

There is a lot of fabric with this one but it still manages to look flattering. Scuba is a thicker material but I didn't feel sweaty or uncomfortable.

I did wimp out a bit and paired it with very basic separates - an old white blouse and my trusty navy Zara blazer. That blazer is my security - it just always makes me feel better and less self-conscious when wearing crazy colours or prints.

FYI: I do apologise for my facial expression. I appear either very smug or very constipated. Either way, not great.

Blouse: Reiss (old)
Blazer: Zara (old)
Bag: Celine
Sunglasses: Celine
Shoes: not pictured but those silver heels :) - Link!

ASOS has so many of these skirts on site at the moment. I did order the midi full volume one a few months ago but that was one of those parcels that disappeared on transit on the way to Dubai - this happens way too frequently. Interestingly the other Laura's parcel with this midi also got lost....could there be a midi scuba thief out there? Maybe it's worth looking into that skirt again... :)

Hope you had a great Tuesday! I made it to boot camp and loved it. With views like this it would be hard not to appreciate the early morning. The only issue is that all those compound movements and working the muscles to exhaustion have left me hobbling. So now my challenge is not only getting up early but also trying to pretend that everything is fine and that I'm not so out of shape :)

  3. This skirt is stunning! I love the style and I also love colour. I usually shy away from things quite this bright but lately I have really been drawn to them. Unfortunately, not even this could ever make me look tanned!

    1. I think I could only wear this if I hide in a blazer - you need something to balance it out because it's seriously PINK! :)

  15. I'm always afraid to wear bright colored clothing, I only own one bight coral colored dress but worn it once. After seeing how nicely the bright skirt paired with a navy blazer I think I will be trying to wear my bright dress again with a blazer hopefully it makes me feel better too.
