Bookmarked #1

I want all the things and I would quite like them all now. However, this is not always justifiable so I have ploughed my efforts into devising a wishlist instead.

I had a lot of fun doing this - possibly not as much fun as actually buying/trying the selected goodies but who can resist a bit of fantasy shopping every now and then?

Here are the products that I currently have bookmarked!

On my list: Beauty

1. Laura Mercier Creme Eye Liner in Envy - I had something of an emotional moment when I saw this on the Selfridges "New In" Beauty section. Could this be MAC's long discontinued Shade fluidline reincarnated and brought to life by a different brand? Although I sound like a nutcase let me tell you that Shade was one of those gel liners that I bought backups of. I know I am not the only one that thinks of it fondly...please, is there anyone out there that understands how excited I am for this? Shade was the perfect green liner - adding definition but also contrasting wonderfully with neutral shadows - and I am pretty sure Envy will do the job equally as well.

2. Malin & Goetz Dark Rum candle - right, okay. I am talking about a candle. Is that beauty? Maybe/maybe not but this has long been on my wishlist due to it's scent mix of rum and leather. It sounds warm, exotic and a great room filler. I really hope it lives up to the hype. There's nothing worse that buying a $50 candle only to realise that a lowly Bath and Body Works 3-wicker does a superior job for a third of the price...

3. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino - I pick this up every single time I am in duty free. I spray it and immediately love the splash of aromatic citrus. I want to smell this good every single day. I want to have the giant bottle that the models carelessly throw about in the shower. I want it all but I never want to allocate the cash to get it so I blow it all on more pink lipsticks and blushers. That's money well spent, isn't it?

4. Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow - I think this foundation would be right up my street. It parades itself as the definition of youthful skin. Sold. I just need to hold out until I am at a counter because as I have found out over the years, a base product is almost impossible to buy online.

5. Charlotte Tilbury Beach Sticks - I don't even care what colour I get, I just want these. I tried Simone's during our rosemantic minibreak together and the consistency....the consistency is unbelievable. It glides. That's all I can say. It glides onto the skin, evenly depositing pigment as it goes and the blending is foolproof. I need. I want. I will have.

6. NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow - now I did actually order a couple of these but Space NK didn't deliver to my UK address in time so I'll now be hopping over to Selfridges to pay the exorbitant shipping fee and ensure that they reach me over here. I know these are going to be great but I get my knickers in a twist when I try to decide what shades I actually want. I think it's because I want them all.

7. Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation - it's a foundation and it's from Tom Ford. This is meant to be a lovely formula, lightly matte with just enough coverage to even out a complexion. I have read a few reviews and it's interesting how differently this performs on varying skin types. Meant to be a no-no on oily skins, its a great staple for others. I want to try it and add my two cents.

8. Sarah Chapman Overnight Body Treatment - I am a sporadic body moisturiser. At times I will be slathering myself in the stuff and other times I get lazy. I like the idea of using this intensive body moisturiser every now and then to redress the balance. Plus, Sarah Chapman is a brand I have a lot of faith in.

9. Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Night Crimson - there is a lot of Charlotte Tilbury action in this post. I think this is a result of the fact that she is not yet available over here. You always want what you can't have etc. Night Crimson is one of those colours that manages to scare the bejeezus out of me whilst still proving enticing. I want to wear this in Winter months and frighten anyone that looks at me.

10. Oribe Surfcomber Mousse - although this has received mixed feedback I love the way Anna Lee looks when she just gently pushes this into her hair. It manages to achieve that effortless texture - granted this is probably a result of her skills as a hairdresser but I have faith in the Oribe. I will buy it, pump out a golf ball size amount and hopefully not achieve the crunchy mousse-laden locks of my youth.

So that's my wishlist - well, today's anyway. Watching videos and reading blogs means that the items on it change on a regular basis. What do you have your eye on beauty-wise? Enable me!

  6. What is it about leather in candles? I LOVE Kobo's Leather Mahogany candle. I generally stock up once a year. Still expensive, but slightly easier to swallow at $35 a pop.

  7. Don't get the candle, I too fell in love with description - the smell is lovely just no throw and it was so smokey it set my fire alarm off. It's decoration piece in my en suite now :( , wish we could return things like they do in the US.

    1. So true! This candle is total crap. Poor smell, bad burning. Totally over-hyped.

  13. Definitely want to try some Charlotte Tilbury stuff. (It launches Stateside very soon!)

Other things (and this is just a small sampling!)...

    * A simplehuman lighted makeup mirror. It comes in two sizes (full size w/5x magnification and travel/mini size w/10x magnification); the one I want is the full size. The light is supposed to be similar to natural sunlight, and it's cordless (can be charged the conventional way or by USB). I think it'd be useful during wintertime if I wanted to touch up or apply makeup in the late afternoon or early evening without having to do it in my bathroom. (I usually apply makeup in my bedroom.) It's available through Sephora in the US; not sure if you'll be able to track it down in the Emirates.

    * Tom Ford l/s in Blush Nude. I did take a gander at Spanish Pink online, which I know you (among others) are in love with, but it didn't grab me like Blush Nude did. And I don't own any luxury-brand makeup at the moment, soooo... this could be my first, at some point.

    * More makeup brushes! (Actually, I'm planning to revamp my brush collection throughout next year.)

  24. I was so disappointed with the Tom Ford perfume! I too loved the smell, very vacation-esq as the name suggests. However, $200+ is a lot to drop on a little bottle so I took home a little sample to make sure it was worth the money.

So glad I did because I was shocked at how quickly the scent wore off. For that kind of money I'm expecting it to be a proper eau de parfum that lingers on my skin for the entire day, not a few measly hours.

So I've moved on and now have my eye on the new Tory Burch scent. Have you tried it?
