Encore

"A repeat outfit is really just a well-earned encore"  Wise words from the house of J.Crew.

I am a big outfit repeater. I think this partly lack of imagination - when I feel comfortable in something I don't have the energy to deviate from it. I normally update the accessories and hope that nobody notices.  One such outfit is pictured after the jump...
Now I want to say that I love this H&M tank that you can see sitting beneath my blazer and I got two of these beauties this week. They are made of a thick viscose that stops them from being transparent and ensures that they appear dressier than your average tank BUT and there is a big BUT, they are booby. This works well for evening but causes a feeling of vulnerability during the day time. A big old bra or a lace crop top that is designed to be seen is therefore a wise/obligatory choice.

Those GAP chinos by the way are beyond comfortable. Mega-slouchy and cotton-based. They are ideal for weekend wear and I do regret not picking them up in the light blue....(Makes mental note to pop in store and see if they are still kicking around)

Tank: H&M - can't find this online but it was in Dubai Mall this week!
Blazer: old ASOS but similar here - Link!
Chinos: GAP - Link!
Shoes: Steve Madden - Link!
Bag: Furla - Link!
Sunglasses: RayBan - Link!

Before I go I have to do a little rave for OPI's Red My Fortune Cookie. This is one of those magical reds. It's a bright, happy colour that has just the right amount of orange in the mix to keep things fresh. I think this is currently running neck and neck with OPI's Vodka & Caviar as my all time favourite from that tone family. I am open to suggestions in this regard though and the one brand that is on my list is the obscenely priced Christian Louboutin. I feel like such a sucker for even entertaining the thought of paying that much for a polish but for novelty-value, it might have to be done :)

PS. I know I was supposed to do a perfume review for my next post but I just couldn't find the words and had a massive mental block. I haven't forgotten but hopefully I can kick my arse into gear and get the words on paper in the next few days!

  7. I have to say that the Louboutin polish delivers. One coat and dries within 30 seconds. I find the handle actually makes it easier to apply. I bought it purely for the classic red shade and the fact it's probably the only thing I'd ever to be afford from the brand but what I was not expecting was for it to be actually good! I am eyeing up the darker shades. I really have not worn one particular polish so much! I am quite a floozy when it comes to nail polishes so that is saying something ;)
Not trying to make you buy it or anything. Ahem....

    2. I just got he Louboutin Rouge as well. I haven't tried it just yet but it looks remarkably like Dress to Kilt by Essie. $50 is a hefty price to pay for a polish but then again it's polish and a weapon in one, when you see it in person you'll know what I mean. Now I just hope by 15 month old doesn't get a hold of it and stab me with it.

  10. I bought the loub polish: totally just a novelty item the formula is actually terrible (worn twice both times chipped really badly within 24 hours) but beautiful to look at. Won't buy another one but will continue to admire the one I have

  11. I'm debating the loubs polish too! Maybe I can live my purchase through you if you get it!

  15. H&M's basic tanks are the best, I must say. Perfect for throwing under a blazer or cardigan. And I am completely obsessed with your shades and purse. I love how small colourful details can completely dress up a monochrome look!

  19. Totally agree with you on this, when I feel good in an outfit I try and get away with wearing it as much as I can! And for the record, this is one of my favourite looks on you, you pull off chic so well!
