If the shoe fits, buy it in every colour…
First came the faux snakeskin pair.
These I envisaged wearing a lot with white - white dresses, white skirts etc… - but as it happens I have worn them the most with denim jeans.
They enjoyed their maiden voyage in the UK and as someone that often suffers from the process of breaking in new shoes I am pleased to report that they caused no issues - no blisters and no rubbing.
Ordinarily anything that cuts my legs off at the ankle makes me feel like Mrs Stumpy McStump (Valentino Rockstud flats I'm looking at you) but there is an elegance to these (thanks to the pointed toe) that balances them out.
Well that sealed the deal and I then decided that I must have the black and naively toddled off to the website to add to basket and checkout. Of course, they were sold out. So I checked out my local Topshop in Tunbridge Wells…..and guess what? Sold out.
Cue silent tears.
I tweeted about this and a very kind follower - Kawai (who also has a blog - Link!) offered to pick them up for me in her local store. It honestly blows me away when anyone volunteers to custom shop/go out of their way for me. I think it's very generous of someone to give up their time in that way.
A few days later and here they are…I have already planned an outfit around them (of course) with Zara jeans and a pretty Topshop blouse.
Having tried them on I would say that the black makes more of a statement is probably the more appealing version as a result. Being black they are also the easiest to wear/pair with clothes in my neutral wardrobe.
I'm not sure if this blogpost is interesting at all. Probably not. But I wanted to shout about these shoes and tell you all that you they are wonderful and well worth the £50ish price tag!
Now I need to seriously consider the red pair…. :)
