Today I felt like channelling a more summery mood and this is what I came up with.
I kind of love it.
The exposed shoulders on the blue striped dress, the bright orange bag contrast, the delicate necklace and the fact that I had a blow-dry this morning - these are all factors that resulted in the sparking of joy!
The bag is a recent gift from Henri Bendel and you may remember that they also gifted me a deep purple version of their famous Uptown satchel last year. It proved a very useful work bag, housing a laptop, notepad and all other meeting paraphernalia. When it comes to this orange-hued version though the bright shade elevates it beyond a role as a week day workhouse.
This is the kind of tone that just works for Spring/Summer and I love the fact that the leather is textured - it gives it a durability that I definitely need with a lighter shade and I always find textured leather bags hold their shape better over time.
Although I wouldn't probably pair it with an all black outfit it looks so good clashing with blue - enter this Zara dress, a recent acquisition.
This is my 4th item in the bare shoulder category so it's fair to say that I am LOVING and embracing this trend.

I think this bag wins an award for being one of the boldest bags in my collection from a shade perspective. It effectively defines the colours of the season - a whole load of brights - which are a nice injection for someone who typically wears such plain and neutral garb. They actually do a mini version of it which I think would look amazing - mini bags can never do any wrong. International shipping is also available.....tempting :)
So bright bags? Yay or nay?
Thanks for reading as always and thank you to my husband for being bribed with lunch in exchange for taking these photos :)
